Abstract
The discourse approach explains the relationship between religion and identity in the thought of Imam Khomeini better than other approaches; While this feature has been less discussed. According to the mentioned capability, the purpose of this research is to use the discourse approach to explain relationship between religion and identity in the thought of Imam Khomeini. this purpose, in order to carry out this research, he examined the foundations and components of the discourse approach - with a critical view of general insights regarding the humanities and social sciences - through the examination of various sources, and then the relationship between religion and identity in the thought of Imam Khomeini based on It examines intra- and inter-discourse relationships. The results of this research showed that the development of the thought of Imam was the result of the interaction of identity and religion in discourse of returning to oneself and in confronting the Western discourse. Imam Khomeini was able to bring about the revolution and the Islamic Republic with his practical and intellectual role-playing through the discourse of returning to oneself and also the political-social confrontation with the Western-oriented Pahlavi government in the formation of the discourse of returning to oneself.

Abstract
The confrontation and hostility of the Islamic Republic with the West has an identity root, this alienation and hostility was keyed as the central core of the identity of the Islamic Republic during the Pahlavi II era. This confrontation has continued since the beginning of the Islamic revolution until today, and the relations between the two sides have always been in ups and downs, so in this regard, the present research has sought to answer the question of how the extreme modernist policy of Pahlavi II affects the positions of Has the anti-Westernism of the Islamic Republic of Iran been effective? And in order to answer this question, the descriptive-analytical method and the library and website tools have been used, and by using the constructivist theory, this hypothesis has been proposed that the formation of the identity of the Islamic Revolution in the second Pahlavi period and resulting from the collision of policies The aforementioned regime has been modernist and the approach of the Islamic Republic lies in its identity, and with Pahlavi's confrontational approach towards the West, during the Islamic Revolution and the strengthening of the religious identity of the Iranian people, this hostility and confrontation intensified.
