Relations, Russia, Turkey, Syrian crisis, national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Abstract:   (318 Views)
With the formation of the crisis in Syria, the ground was provided for the influence of regional and extra-regional powers. These countries have been trying to secure their national security by using different tools and measures. In the Syrian crisis, regional and extra-regional powers such as Turkey and Russia were involved. Turkey entered the field due to its border and threats from terrorist groups and Russia to maintain its economic and military ties with Syria and prevent its influence in the Middle East from decreasing. Before this, Russia and Turkey had extensive cooperation, which came into conflict with the Syrian crisis and the positions of the two countries, and it reached its peak when Turkey shot down a Russian fighter on the Syrian border, and Russia also cut off all its relations with Turkey. But, once again, the two countries turned to cooperation. The purpose of this research is to explain the effect of the relations between Russia and Turkey in the Syrian crisis on the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The main question of the research has been raised as follows: What effect did the relations between Russia and Turkey have on the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Syrian crisis? It has been hypothesized that the relations between Russia and Turkey in the Syrian crisis, due to the presence of components such as the attempt to overthrow the Assad family, the influence of the Kurds and the attempt to weaken the influence of Iran, have become the basis for the weakening of the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The findings of the research show that the relations between Russia and Turkey in the Syrian crisis have caused the weakening of Iran's national security. The type of research method is descriptive-analytical and based on library studies.
